Alicia M. Herrold, Ph.D., LMHP
Dr. Alicia Meng Herrold, PhD, LMHP is a Licensed Mental Health Provider with a passion for working with youth and families. She earned her Doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed an internship at the Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Herrold has provided mental health services across diverse settings including public schools, community mental health centers, and university counseling clinics. She has worked in both rural and urban areas, and values coordinating care with school personnel, medical providers, and other professionals to effectively support her clients.
Dr. Herrold specializes in working with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, adjustment difficulties, and school-related stress. She has a particular interest in helping clients learn to cope with difficult emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthy behaviors. Dr. Herrold also enjoys collaborating with parents and caregivers as part of her therapeutic approach. She utilizes evidence-based strategies from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), all within a strengths-based and trauma-informed framework to assist clients with gaining skills and increasing self-confidence to address challenges and foster growth. Dr. Herrold’s therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and warm. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and experiences.
